Podcasts are amazing these days and you need to get in on this, because you know FOMO (fear of missing out) is a thing. I’m one of those people who needs noise in the house and I love hearing real life stories, so you can see why I love podcasts. Wherever I am, I have a huge variety of fresh podcasts. I scrolled through my podcast library to find you the best podcasts you need to try out.
Story Club, Giant Dwarf
The project of Zoe Norton Lodge and Ben Jenkins from the Chaser team, is a podcast where guests come and tell a short story about their own experiences. They aren’t ordinary stories either. So far I haven’t listened to one that didn't make me laugh just a little. Stories includes about awkward drug testing for athletes, a baby meme photo prank, losing your passport and phone in Beijing plus many more hilarious real-life stories.
My favourite episode: #16. Ben Jenkins - The Baby
The Binge, Mamamia
Bingeing on a TV show feels pretty great doesn't it and it’s so much easier to with more online platforms. You will love hearing Laura and her guest hosts discuss the latest in TV news and great suggestions to dig your teeth into.
My favourite episode: Bach Chat Final: We’ve Been Burnt Twice
10% Happier with Dan Harris
Yes.You do here from celebrities about how they help themselves be happier and what they do to meditate which may feel like that it wouldn’t apply to your life but this podcast is full of situations where people needed to equip themselves with tools in how to come out the other ender stronger and of course happier.
My favourite episode: #53: Josh Radnor, “How I Met Your Mother” Star Back in Theatre
Burn Your Passport with Nazeem Hussain, Triple J
A holiday isn't a holiday without a bit of drama but in the end a great story. Burn Your Passport is full of traveling stories with a particular emphasis on the chaotic. You can hear from well-known personalities and their strange, dodgy and unusual travel stories.
My favourite episode: Kidnapped in Bangkok and stares in Paris
Conversations, ABC Radio
I have learnt so much about the world from this Podcast including the origin of fairies and pixies legends in Ireland, stories of science revelations, history and guests life stories of triumph and experiences. I even came across a story about the Australian Olympic Team for the 1936 Berlin Olympics which my Great-Grandfather was a member of the Rowing Team.
My favourite episode: Hannah Kent and the Good People of Ireland
Wilosophy with Wil Anderson
This is the podcast that made me fall in love with podcasts. With each guest, Wil Anderson asks first, ‘Guest, what’s your name and who are you’ which starts of the conversation on how each guest views who they are what philosophies they follow.
My favourite episode: WILOSOPHY with Lauren Fried
The Osher Gunsberg Podcast
It won’t be too long until you feel like Osher is just another friend with such honesty about his own life. Each week, Osher interviews a variety of people who excel in finding how to make what makes them happy a career.
My favourite episode: Ep 94: Leigh Sales

About the writer

Laura wakes up feeling like she should have been French. She loves food, wine and creative feats like writing and fashion illustrating. She’s also a sucker for the colour grey (or should I say gris).
