Are you looking for that perfect present for your friends that fits in your christmas budget. I started looking into some chic homemade Christmas presents for my many sisters and girlfriends and I came across shower sugar scrubs. You will probably find most ingredients in your kitchen.
I love using shower sugar scrubs myself and my skin feels amazing afterwards especially in the
middle of summer and your skin does not feel it’s best.
For research reasons, I just had to develop and of course try out all of these sugar scrubs for you. I’m just generous that way.

Grapefruit and mint
This sugar scrub feels so perfect for summer. It’s just like a fresh summer cocktail for your shower.
1 cup sugar
¼ cup coconut oil
⅛ cup grapefruit juice
1 drop of peppermint essence
Combine your sugar scrub ingredients together.
Notes
Add more grapefruit juice if the peppermint essence or coconut oil is overpowering the grapefruit juice scent. If the sugar scrub is watery add more sugar.
Chocolate
This is the first sugar scrub I tried and made never want to look back. The dutch cocoa scent felt like dessert in my shower. This sugar scrub feels decadent and goes very nice with a glass of cabernet merlot after your shower.
1 cup of brown sugar
¼ cup light scented olive oil
1 tablespoon of vanilla essence
1 tablespoon of dutch cocoa powder
Combine your sugar scrub ingredients together.
Notes
I recommend on using dutch cocoa powder which adds a bit more
You could add a drop of peppermint, coffee or orange essence to adapt your sugar scrub.
Spiced Vanilla and Coconut
Perhaps some sweetness is what you want in your beauty products. I know I do.

1 cup of sugar
¼ cup of coconut oil
2 tablespoon of vanilla essence
2 tablespoon of mixed spice
Combine your sugar scrub ingredients together.
Earl Grey
This one is for your friend who never seems too far away from her cup of tea.
1 cup of sugar
⅛ cup of light scented olive oil (alternatively you could use grapeseed oil). Preferably an oil with very little scent.
2 earl grey teabags
Make a cup of tea with approximately ⅛ cup of hot water. We want to make this quite a concentrated tea. Before we add the tea to the sugar, we need to let the tea cool down. So I put the tea in the fridge with the tea bag still in the teacup.
Secondly, we combined the sugar and olive oil together.
Once your tea is cool or at room temperature, add to your sugar and oil mixture. Ensure you take out the tea bag before adding your tea.
Next, cut open your second tea bag and sprinkle into your tea. You may only need half the tea bag.
Peppermint
This peppermint sugar scrub is great for your someone who struggles to wake up in the mornings. The mint scent will help you feel awake and ready for the day ahead.

1 cup of sugar
¼ cup coconut oil
1 tablespoon peppermint essence
½ a drop of green dye for appearance if you desire.
Combine your sugar scrub ingredients together.

Gift suggestion
Instead of giving a jar of one sugar scrub, you could get a couple of smaller containers (you can buy little containers in your grocery store) and put a sample of a few different sugar scrubs. Finish off your gift container with a little bit of brown twine.
