Are you panicking about Christmas shopping as much as I am? And you just know that December will fly by. Argh. Why did I always leave it to last minute again?
Here are some useful tricks I will be using to survive this year's Christmas shopping.
1. Make a shopping list
Shops are designed so you buy more than what you were planning. Ever noticed why the milk is right at the end of the grocery store and the chocolate is right at the front where you walk in? Make a list of what presents your are buying for all your loved ones, include any wrapping, tags. Then once you are at the shops, stick to your list. Your bank account will thank you for this.
2. Choose your timing
Go first thing in the morning to do your shopping. There are less people shopping at before 10am. Stick away from lunch times when the stores are most likely their most busiest.
3. Listen to some tunes
I find listening to my favourite Ed Sheeran songs or a good Wil Anderson podcast lets me zone out from the people and noise around me and letting me focus on my shopping a worthwhile trick. Just pop in your headphones to your favourite tunes or podcasts even if it is your favourite audio book can help make your shopping trip a more enjoyable experience. An additional bonus is not listening to catchy Christmas songs that will stick in your head all day.
4. Find something different
Explore the shops online for something different than the usual socks and tie for your Dad. Online stores such as Etsy, the Iconic, Amazon can help you find a present unique for your loved one. Just remember to order ahead of time to get your parcel in the mail before Christmas.
May all your Christmas shopping dreams come true.
