You may be sick of hearing about mindfulness and those colouring books.I couldn't make sense of this concept when my mother first introduced me to it. But after enough research, I finally understood and what a difference it has made bringing me clarity and productivity.

Mindfulness is basically allowing your mind to focus one thing or your surroundings and living in the present moment.

Psychology Today describes mindfulness as:

‘Mindfulness is a state of active, open attention on the present. When you're mindful, you observe your thoughts and feelings from a distance, without judging them good or bad. Instead of letting your life pass you by, mindfulness means living in the moment and awakening to experience.’

You can read more at Psychology Today.

Mindfulness basically allows you to focus and be in the moment rather than worrying about the future or past. It helps you be more productive and live a happier life and why wouldn't you want that in your life.

3 things you can do to be mindful other than colouring

Sushi

Sushi is such a delicate yet fun dish to put together with all the separate elements helps you stay in the moment. It’s also a delicious achievement once you are ready to serve.

Manicure

Dazzle those nails with a fresh paint of nail polish. Focus your attention on those paint strokes and even be adventurous by attempting a detailed design.

Discover something new everyday to work.

Even though you go the same route you’ve already been a thousand times before, you will be surprised at what you can discover by paying more attention to your surroundings. By aiming to find something new, you mind is actively in the moment. It maybe the way to sun hits a building, the colour of the leaves on a tree, how a sign is just off centre.
